Craft Time: A Is for Alligator

Good morning, welcome to the First Day of learning our alphabet. Each month we will be focusing on two letters and be spending two weeks on each letter. In January, we be focusing on the Letter A and also B. So join us this week as we begin with the Letter A. Charlie and me are going to make this cute alligator hang on our classroom wall. I think he might become our mascot.

Letter crafts can be such a fun way to learn with toddlers and preschoolers! Focusing on one letter at a time and incorporating a fun craft makes letter recognition and association so much easier for early learners!

I loved this A is for alligator craft because it takes a bite out of craft time and you really don’t need anything special to make this! If you don’t have googly eyes, you can improvise with any number of things!

To make this adorable and easy alligator letter A craft you will need:

2 x 4″ strips of green paper

1 x 2″ strip of green paper

2 x 2″ strips of white paper

1 googly eye

glue stick

scissors

Directions:

With the 2x 4″ strips and 1 x 2″ strip of green construction paper form your letter A and glue it in place.

Cut teeth shapes in the 2 x 2″ strips of white paper.

Glue the teeth on the legs of the A.

Glue the googly eye on to the top of the letter A.

If you have a fun craft idea for the letter A I would love to hear about it in a comment!
