Charlie Brown, I Love You, But I’m Not Joining Apple!

It’s hard to believe #Halloween is right around the corner and I haven’t been able to watch one of my all-time favorite Halloween movies of all times. It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Do you know where you can watch it? Apple TV. And let me make something perfectly clear. I HATE, HATE, HATE anything to do with Apple. I will not have anything to do with Apple. Period!

I’m not buying Apple products, and I’m not signing up for Apple TV just to watch Charlie Brown. That’s not happening. So what am I supposed to do? Just go without watching a Halloween tradition I’ve enjoyed for years because the company that has the rights decided to put it on its streaming service?

That’s what makes me mad. It’s not that I don’t want to watch Charlie Brown. I DO! I want to watch It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown without having to support a company I want nothing to do with. And before somebody tells me to just subscribe for a month and cancel it, NO!

Why should I have to do that? Why should I have to sign up for something I don’t want just to watch one holiday special? This is exactly why I’m on my soapbox. What happened to the days when we could watch these holiday favorites on regular television? Why can’t families have an opportunity to watch them without chasing down another streaming service?

And don’t even get me started on Christmas! Because if we’re having this much trouble finding Charlie Brown at Halloween, what does that say about the holiday traditions we’ve enjoyed for generations? Including #Rudolf and #Frosty because if I can’t see them I may just start throwing things.

I want to watch my cartoons. I want David to watch his cartoons. And I want today’s children to grow up knowing these stories, too.

I shouldn’t need a collection of streaming subscriptions just to enjoy the same holiday traditions I’ve loved since childhood. Charlie Brown belongs in our holiday traditions, not behind a subscription wall that forces people to support a service they don’t want.

What do you think and why?
