Man, on man Buttercup do I have a story to share with you this morning. Before I begin thought I wanted to wish you a good morning,! hope you, your family, and any pets you may have are having a beautiful Saturday morning. I am so glad Friday is over because as much as I hate drama it came into my home in a big way but I didn’t let it detour me from my plans.
Yesterday was a little different around our house. David worked all day and came home exhausted. Charlie had his usual backwards sleep schedule, and there were some disappointments surrounding their trip to Six Flags last night. What was supposed to be a fun experience turned into a frustrating evening, and I hate that David and Charlie didn’t get to enjoy the time together the way I had hoped.
Sometimes we make plans with the best intentions, hoping everyone will have a wonderful time, only to discover that things don’t always go the way we pictured them. We cannot control other people’s actions, but we can decide how we move forward. What we did learn through the two events this week is Joseph isnt the right person to take with us.
Now, its back to the drawing board on events and instead of asking someone to come with us I think from now on its just going to be David and I. I’m not even going to ask Charlie because he says yes then on the day of the event he decides he doesn’t want to go and that isn’t fair to my clients.
Instead of worrying about that today, I’m choosing to give everyone a little breathing room and let yesterday be yesterday. I’m going to focus on new things for the site and just spend the day in my room. Everyone else can fend for themselves and that includes dinner.
One thing I am proud of myself for is I didn’t let all the changes affect my plans with my friend Debbie. I went out to dinner with her to Roanoke and we walked through the Town after dinner which I enjoyed a lot. Having dinner with Debbie led to a wonderful evening catching up which we both needed.
The restaurant we stopped at was one of her families favorites, we was able to eat off the kids menu which saved us money. I enjoyed spending time together. It cost a little more than I had planned, but sometimes making memories with someone you love is worth stepping outside your usual routine and spending a little more than you wanted to. And that is something I want to remember today: even when some things go wrong, there are still good things happening around us.
On the Greatful Moments front, I received some encouraging news! One of the ladies I reached out to got back with me and is excited about participating in our local business giveaway. Luann is on board, too, and I’m hopeful about connecting with Cheryl and a few other local businesses.
I also received the $150 payment for a sponsored post, and I cannot tell you how much that meant to me. It wasn’t just about the money. It was a reminder that the work I’m doing matters and that someone sees value in what I’m building. I can never thank the LORD enough for that post because there is things I need for work and now, I don’t have to ask David.
When you pour your heart into something, there are days when you wonder if anybody notices. Then something happens that reminds you to keep going. I’m still waiting to hear back from a couple of businesses, and I’m hopeful about the possibilities ahead. If a door opens, I’ll walk through it. If it doesn’t, I’ll trust that another opportunity may be waiting for me.
I’ve learned that I don’t have to force every opportunity to happen on my schedule. As we head into a new week, I’m reminding myself that I cannot fix everything in one day. I cannot make everyone happy, control every situation, or know exactly how everything will work out.
But I can pray. I can keep trying. I can love my family. I can appreciate my friends. I can continue working on Greatful Moments, one email and one opportunity at a time. Which is why I’m stepping back today and letting everyone figure things out on there own.
I’m also praying for David’s work hours to pick back up. With hours being cut, it’s something weighing on my heart. But its also putting more stress on David and with his heart condition that isn’t good. Again I’m coming to the Lord, You know our needs, and I’m trusting You to help us find our way through.
Today, I want to focus on the blessings I do have instead of spending all my time worrying about the things I cannot control. I have my faith. I have my family. I have friendships that mean the world to me. I have my dogs. I have opportunities to keep growing. And I have another morning to start fresh.
hat is enough reason to say thank You, Lord.
My Saturday prayer is simple:
Heavenly Father, thank You for another morning and another opportunity to begin again. Please watch over our families, guide our decisions, provide for our needs, and give us peace when life feels overwhelming. Open the doors that are right for us, help us accept the ones that close, and remind us to recognize Your blessings even on our hardest days. Help us walk into this new week with faith, patience, and grateful hearts. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
As you go about your Saturday, I hope you remember that you don’t have to have everything figured out to be blessed. You don’t have to have a perfect family, a perfect home, or a perfect plan. Sometimes the greatest blessing is simply getting another chance to try again.
So I’m choosing to move forward, trust the Lord, appreciate the people who show up for me, and keep believing that good things are still ahead. What are you thankful for this Saturday morning? I’d love to hear about the little blessings, the big blessings, and even the unexpected ones.May your day be filled with peace, love, and a few beautiful surprises.
Grateful, Thankful, and Blessed. β€οΈππ¦
