It’s 4 and I feel like I’ve been up all night because I kept waking up and going back to sleep because we have a couple events and before we leave this morning I had things I needed to get done. More than that though I’m worried about Charlie who didn’t ge to bed at all.
But I wanted you to know today may not be perfect and it might not be everything I’m hopping and PRAYING for and that is okay. Because its Wednesday David is off and I get to spend the time with my family visiting new places and for that I’m grateful, thankful and blessed.
I wanted to let you now I’m feeling two things at once: excited and nervous. My family is heading to Plano today to visit the Cryptid Museum, and it’s a little bit of a drive from home. I’m looking forward to the experience, especially because I chose this museum for David and Bradley. Unfortunately, Bradley ended up flaking on us, and I’ll admit that it has left me feeling disappointed.
We’re also bringing Joseph along, and since he hasn’t done events with us before, I’m a little anxious about how everything will go. Then, this evening, we’re heading to Denton for the 31 Days of Halloween. My mind is already worrying about getting separated, keeping everyone together, and making sure the day goes smoothly.
And if I’m being completely honest, the disappointment from today has me thinking about Six Flags, too. As I work hard to rebuild Greatful Moments, I have to ask people to join us at some of these events. I put time, effort, and heart into these opportunities, and it’s hard not to worry about what happens when someone backs out. I can’t have people flaking out when plans involve other people and commitments.
But I’m trying to remind myself that I don’t have to figure out every future situation today. Today, I get to spend time with my family. We get to experience something new, make memories, and hopefully have a wonderful day together. And that’s what I want to focus on.
I think sometimes we feel like we have to share only the good things on our websites and social media. The happy pictures, the exciting announcements, and the moments when everything goes right. But life isn’t always like that, is it? Today I wanted to share my fears with you.
Sometimes we’re anxious. Sometimes we’re disappointed. Sometimes we have fears that we can’t seem to turn off, even when we have something wonderful to look forward to. And sometimes we need to be brave enough to say, I’m struggling a little today, and I could use some prayers.
That’s where I am this morning. I’m choosing to put this day in the Lords hands. I can’t control what other people do, and I can’t promise that everything will go according to plan. But I can pray, trust in Him, and do my best to enjoy the blessings right in front of me.
So today, I’m asking for prayers. Please pray for safe travels as we head to Plano and Denton, for a peaceful day with no drama, for everyone to get along and stay together, and for us to make wonderful memories as a family. Please also pray for jobs to come through for those who need them, including me on the blog, for doors to open, and for the LORD to continue guiding me as I work to build Greatful Moments.
I’m learning that being courageous doesn’t mean I never feel afraid. Sometimes courage means showing up anyway, being honest about how I feel, and trusting God to walk beside me. I want Greatful Moments to be a place where we can share the good, the hard, the happy, and the heartbreaking. A place where we can celebrate one another, lift each other up, and ask for prayers when we need them.
Because we’re all human, and none of us has to pretend that life is perfect. Today, I’m choosing faith over fear, one moment at a time. May the LORD keep us safe, guide our steps, bring the right job opportunities our way, and bless our family with a wonderful day together.
Grateful, Thankful, and Blessed. And if you have a moment today, please say a little prayer for us. I’ll be grateful for every single one. If you would like for my to Pray for you as well just leave me a comment and I would be happy to and so would Charlie.
