I was getting ready to work this morning and as sat down at my desk I looked around and everywhere I turned there was something that told me David was thinking about me. I moved a tote and there was my calendar and notebook ready to use this week.
Then in front of my computer was a sign reminding me of Coffee & Jesus and I would be able to do anything I needed to do. Along with a sign that says you got this and I knew I did. Along with my perfume from Bath & Body Works called Butterfly which had me thinking of Suzzane
.Having everything at my fingertips would allow me to get things done faster and for that I am grateful, thankful and blessed. I wanted to let you know some products are special because they smell good. Others become special because of the people who give them to us, the memories they bring back, and the love attached to them.
For me, my set of Butterfly which includes the Fine Fragrance Mist from Bath & Body Works is all those things and more. My best friend Debbie gave me these products several years ago. The funny part is that the following year, she bought me the exact same fragrance again without realizing she had already given it to me!
I didn’t say anything because when somebody thinks enough of you to buy you a gift, you should be thankful they thought of you. Besides, I loved it, so having another bottle wasn’t a problem. Now I have one bottle upstairs and another downstairs.
I’ve had the first bottle for four or five years, and I still have more than half of it left. No, it isn’t because I don’t use it. It’s because I love it so much that I keep saving it for special occasions. I need to quit doing that and enjoy the things I have been blessed with instead of saving them for some day that may never come. And that is just the beginning of my Butterfly story.
Bath & Body Works was one of my daughter Suzzane’s favorite stores before she passed away. That makes shopping there especially meaningful to me. Back when North Hills Mall was still here, I worked at the mall, and Suzzane would go to work with me.
I did surveys and other things, including surveys for Bath & Body Works. I loved getting to see all the new products that were coming in. It was fun to discover what was new and see the different fragrances and products the company was introducing. I sure miss those days.
Even now, I can walk through the mall and into Bath & Body Works some days without a problem. I can browse the products, enjoy the fragrances, and remember the good times. Then there are other days when I walk into that same store, and the tears just start pouring.
That’s the thing about losing someone you love. You never know what is going to affect you or when it will happen. A familiar fragrance, a favorite store, or something you see on a shelf can bring back memories before you have time to prepare yourself. As much as I love Bath & Body Works, sometimes walking into that store can bring me to my knees.
And that’s okay. Grief doesn’t follow a schedule. I can smile about the memories I made with Suzzane and still miss her terribly. I can enjoy something that reminds me of her and have days when that same reminder hurts. Both feelings can live in my heart at the same time.
The name of this fragrance is another reason I treasure it. Debbie and I both believe that butterflies remind us of our loved ones flying free around us. Her butterfly is yellow. Suzzane’s butterfly is every color. There isn’t an actual pink butterfly that represents everything I feel, so I picture all the colors together.
Butterflies have become a special reminder of the people we love and the connections we continue to carry in our hearts. There is also a little Dolly Parton connection for me, because butterflies bring her to mind, too. So when I pick up my Butterfly fragrance, I don’t just see a bottle of perfume. I think about Debbie, my daughter, the memories we share, and those little Godwinks that remind us how love can show up in unexpected ways.
Sometimes something as simple as a fragrance can hold a whole story. Bath & Body Works describes Butterfly as a fragrance featuring juicy raspberry nectar, delicate iris petals, and airy vanilla. Those fragrance notes are right up my alley! There something Suzzane would have liked to.
I absolutely love iris, and anyone who knows me knows that vanilla is one of my favorite scents. Put those notes together with raspberry nectar, and you have a combination that makes me happy. The bottle is beautiful, too. The top features purple and blue butterflies in an artistic design with a dimensional look. There is a little gold band, a tiny gold butterfly, and the name Butterfly in dark purple lettering.
It is pretty enough that I don’t mind leaving it out where I can see it. Of course, having two bottles means I can keep one upstairs and one downstairs without having to carry it back and forth! But the bottle is also the perfect size to fit in my bag when traveling or running errands in Town.
The Butterfly Fine Fragrance Mist is designed as a lightweight fragrance for skin and hair. Bath & Body Works says it can be reapplied throughout the day and used as part of a fragrance-layering routine. The company also describes it as dermatologist approved based on a review of independent testing by a board-certified dermatologist and says it is not tested on animals.
The regular price listed on the website when I checked was $17.95, although sales and promotions may change the price. You can find the product on the official Bath & Body Works website. Here’s something I want to make clear: I don’t just own the fragrance mist. I’ve used all the Butterfly products, and I love, love, LOVE them!
The collection includes the Fine Fragrance Mist, Ultimate Hydration Body Cream, body lotion, and body wash. Bath & Body Works also offers other Butterfly products, including a Diamond Shimmer Mist. When I checked the website, the Ultimate Hydration Body Cream was listed at $17.95, while the body lotion and body wash were listed at $15.95 each. Prices and availability can change, so check the website for current details.
I love having matching products that let me enjoy a fragrance in different ways. The body cream, lotion, and body wash complement the fragrance mist, making it easy to build a little fragrance routine around a scent you already love. And I especially love the pink Butterfly body wash because it makes me think of Suzzane.
My collection is something I genuinely use and enjoy. These products aren’t sitting in a cabinet because they look pretty. I’ve tried them, I love them, and I can tell you from my own experience that Butterfly has become one of those fragrances that makes me smile.
Now, let me tell you something that makes me laugh. There have been times when C has used my Butterfly body wash to wash his hands, and he loved it, too! But he was quick to tell me not to tell his friends he had been using it. LOL! Don’t worry, C. Your secret is safe with Mom! Or is it?
As a mom, you learn to pick your battles. And if my son wants to use my Butterfly body wash to get his hands clean, I’m not going to complain. I have much bigger things to worry about than which soap he uses. As long as his hands are clean before he starts cooking, Buttercup he can use whatever he wants!
Besides, if a product smells that good, why should the ladies have all the fun? Maybe Charlie just has better taste than he wants his buddies to know about. That is another reason I appreciate these products. They are things my family and I have actually used and enjoyed. And apparently, Butterfly has a fan in our house who prefers to remain anonymous!
Here is another reason I think sharing the Butterfly collection will be fun. If you walk into my mother-in-law’s bathroom at just about any given time, you might think she and the girls had bought stock in Bath & Body Works! They have a shoe rack filled with all kinds of fragrances and products.
There are so many different scents that you might wonder whether you accidentally walked into a store instead of a bathroom. But the funny thing is that they never bought Butterfly! Now I can share mine with them. Since I already have the whole collection, I can introduce them to a fragrance I genuinely love. Maybe they’ll love it as much as I do.
I think that is one of the nicest things about finding a product you enjoy. You get to share it with the people you love, and sometimes they discover a new favorite along the way. And if Butterfly reminds me of Suzzane while bringing a little happiness to someone else, that makes sharing it even more special.
When I think about Bath & Body Works, I don’t just think about fragrances and body care. I also think about Christmas shopping! This is where I shop for Charlie’s cologne. Some people might not immediately think of Bath & Body Works when shopping for the men in their lives, but the company has a line of men’s fragrances and body-care products worth exploring.
During the Christmas season, I like to look for sales and gifts that fit the people in my family. Bath & Body Works also sells candles, home fragrances, and other giftable products, so it is worth browsing if you are putting together a holiday shopping list. Especially when they have sales.
I also discovered that the website advertises a free Rewards program. Members can earn points on eligible purchases, access offers, and redeem qualifying rewards for selected products. The company also promotes its app, which can provide access to offers and other features.
You know me—I love free products! If I can earn rewards while shopping for things I already enjoy, that sounds like a good reason to look into joining. Not, only that I’ve seen what all Debbie gets through the years through this rewards program so you can bet your bottom dollar I’m going to join it as well as share it with my sister.
When I checked the website, it was advertising promotions such as buy three, get three free or buy two, get one free on select full-size body-care products. The site also featured other offers, including candle promotions and deals on Wallflowers fragrance refills.
Those offers can change, and the products that qualify may vary. Always check the current promotion details, exclusions, and Rewards terms before making a purchase. You can explore the Bath & Body Works website and visit the Rewards program information to see what is currently available.
My plan is to keep an eye on the sales as Christmas approaches. I may not need another Butterfly collection, but there are plenty of other products I can look at for gifts. And who knows? Maybe Santa will have room for a little something special for me, too! Because I need more bath & body products I can call my own and not have to share.
When I think about Butterfly Fine Fragrance Mist, I think about so much more than its fragrance notes or the pretty bottle. I think about Debbie, who gave me a gift she knew I would enjoy—and then accidentally gave it to me again the following year. I think about Suzzane, who loved Bath & Body Works and went to work at the mall with me.
I think about the memories we made, the butterflies that remind us of our loved ones, and the days when a familiar fragrance makes me smile instead of cry. I think about Charlie sneaking a little Butterfly body wash for his hands and hoping his friends never find out.
And I think about sharing the collection with my mother-in-law and the girls because sometimes the best part of enjoying something is passing that happiness along. My recommendation? If you enjoy fruity, floral, and soft vanilla fragrance notes, Butterfly Fine Fragrance Mist is worth exploring. I love the scent, I love the matching products, and I love the memories attached to them.
But for me, this collection will always mean something a little more personal. Debbie’s thoughtful gifts became reminders of friendship, family, and love. And even on the days when walking into Bath & Body Works brings tears to my eyes, I’m thankful for the beautiful memories that remain.
I don’t want to keep saving my favorite things for special occasions. Sometimes an ordinary day deserves a little Butterfly fragrance, too. We don’t have to wait for Christmas or a birthday to enjoy the blessings we already have. And yes, Santa, if you’re listening, you can still put Bath & Body Works on my Christmas list!
