A Sunday Morning Prayer for a Beautiful, Blessed New Week

I wish I could say this was the perfect weekend but it wasn’t. My site went down yesterday morning and they said it would be fixed by 3 pm but it wasn’t. I didn’t let that stop me I went ahead and got articles written and worked on my home. I stayed Grateful, Thankful, and Blessed — even when the weekend doesn’t go as planned.

As I begin my morning, I’d like to thank the Lord for the day He has created and the beautiful morning we’ve been given. As I head to make my cup of coffee, I’m going to sit down while it’s brewing and try to complete at least one survey before I start my day.

Will I reach my goal of 100 Swagbucks points today? God only knows. Will I earn any points today? Once again, God only knows. But I know one thing: I can only reach my goal if I try. So I’ll do what I can, I will take a few minutes for myself, and see what the day brings.

And that’s a little bit how life works, too, isn’t it? We can make plans, set goals, and work hard, but sometimes things don’t happen the way we expected. All we can do is keep putting one foot in front of the other and trust the Lord to guide us along the way and that is what I plan on doing this morning.

As I said earlier my website has been down all weekend, and if I’m being honest, that has thrown a wrench into my plans. I had posts to publish, reviews to finish, and things I wanted to accomplish on Greatful Moments. Instead of letting the situation knock me down and defeat me, I kept moving forward.

I’ve written the posts that are waiting to be published whenever the website is finally working again. I’ve worked on my surveys, cleaned my house, picked up my room, and taken care of the things I could control and I didn’t give up because I knew that wasn’t what the LORD would want me to do.

This morning when I woke up my website was still down I didn’t know when it would be fixed, and I may never know why everything happened the way it did. But instead of spending another morning fussing, crying, and worrying about something I cannot couldn’t fix myself which doesn’t mean I’m not frustrated. I am!

I had plans for this weekend, and I wanted to get things done. When you work hard on something you care about, it’s disappointing when circumstances bring everything to a halt. But I refuse to let a website determine whether I have a good day. The posts are written. The work is waiting. And when I can get back into my website, I’ll keep going. Until then, I’m going to live the life that’s right in front of me.

Now, let’s talk about Charlie and Bradley for a minute. Supposedly, they’re going to go do Instacart today. I hope they do well, because I want nothing more than to see them succeed and have enough money to take care of their responsibilities. But this mama worries.

I’ve researched things, read about how these opportunities work, and looked up information because I want them to make good decisions. I worry about them wasting gas, spending time in the wrong places, and working hard without bringing home enough money to pay their bills.

I’ve tried to offer advice, but sometimes it feels like I’m just Mom. What do I know? Apparently, Bradley knows more than I do. And Charlie, bless his heart, sometimes seems to think so, too! I’m frustrated because I care. I want them to succeed.

I want them to be able to pay their bills and avoid problems that could have been prevented with a little planning. But I also know I cannot make their decisions for them. I can share what I’ve learned, offer advice, pray for them, and hope they’ll listen. Then I have to let them make their own choices.

Lord, please watch over those boys today. Keep them safe on the road, help them make wise decisions, and guide them toward opportunities that will truly help them. Please help them understand the importance of planning ahead and making choices that will benefit them in the long run.

And Lord, please give this mama a little patience, too. Because sometimes loving your children means speaking up, and sometimes it means stepping back and letting them learn. This is why I refuse to go and wake Charlie up for work. He is a grown man and if they mess up and don’t make money for there bills they can deal with the circumstances because I am done trying to help someone who will not help themselves.

Even with the website troubles, the worries about my family, and a weekend that certainly didn’t go according to plan, I have so much to be thankful for. Yesterday, packages arrived for reviews. I’m grateful, thankful, and blessed that they made it here even with the website down.

I found clean shirts to wear. That might sound like a little thing, but I’m grateful, thankful, and blessed for that, too. My room is picked up, and the downstairs is picked up. Thanks to Gerald and David for helping with that. I’m grateful, thankful, and blessed to have a home that’s getting put back together.

I have a husband I love. I have a son I love more than life itself. I have family, and I have my dogs waiting to spend another day with me. And when I finish my morning coffee, I can settle down and watch some of my shows on Paramount Plus and yes, I will be doing my surveys on Swagbucks.

Those might not sound like extraordinary blessings to everyone, but they’re mine. And today, I’m choosing to notice them. Sometimes we spend so much time looking at the things that went wrong that we forget to look around at the things that went right.

My website may be down, but I still have ideas to share. My plans may have changed, but I still have work waiting for me. I may worry about my family, but I have a family to love. And even when I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, I have today. I have the LORD and I have my family and to me that means more than anything.

When I stop and count my blessings, I realize I’m one truly blessed woman this Sunday morning. I don’t know what this coming week will bring. I don’t know when my website will be fixed, how many Swagbucks points I’ll earn, or whether everything I’ve been working toward will happen the way I hope.

But I don’t have to know every answer this morning. I can get up, make my coffee, try to complete a survey, take care of my home, love my family, and do the work that’s available to me. I can pray for the people I love and trust that God sees the things I cannot see.

If you believe in the Lord, remember that you can turn to Him when you’re worried, frustrated, tired, or unsure of what to do next. And if faith isn’t part of your life, that’s okay, too. We all walk different paths, and I respect that and it why I call you one of my friends.

My faith is one of the things that helps me keep moving forward when life doesn’t go according to plan. So, friends, if your weekend didn’t turn out the way you hoped, I want to remind you that you still have a new day ahead of you. You don’t have to solve every problem before breakfast. You don’t have to have every answer figured out. Sometimes you just have to take a breath, count what you do have, and put one foot in front of the other. And that’s what I’m doing today.

My Sunday Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for waking us up this morning and giving us another beautiful day. Thank You for the roof over our heads, the homes we return to, the families we love, and the little blessings we sometimes forget to notice. Lord, I place this coming week in Your hands. You know the worries I’m carrying, the work I’m waiting to finish, the frustration I’ve felt over my website, and the concerns I have for my family.

Please give me patience when things don’t happen on my schedule. Help me remember that I cannot control everything, no matter how hard I try. Give me the wisdom to know when to keep working, when to change direction, and when to step back and let You handle what I cannot.

Please watch over Charlie and Bradley. Guide them toward good decisions, protect them as they travel, and help them find opportunities that allow them to support themselves. Give David strength for the work ahead of him, and bless everyone in our family.

Please be with those who are beginning this Sunday feeling discouraged, overwhelmed, lonely, worried about money, or unsure of what comes next. Remind them that one difficult weekend does not have to define their entire week. Help us notice the good around us, appreciate the people who stand beside us, and find reasons to be thankful even when life is far from perfect.

Lord, please bless this new week. May it bring new opportunities, unexpected kindness, renewed hope, and moments that remind us how precious life truly is. Help us put one foot in front of the other, trust You with what we cannot see, and meet each new day with grateful hearts.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Friends, I hope you have a beautiful, blessed Sunday and a wonderful week ahead. I pray that this new week brings you closer to the things you’re hoping and dreaming for. And if your weekend didn’t go as planned, remember that you can begin again today. I’m going to keep moving forward, one step at a time, and trust the Lord with the rest.

Grateful, Thankful, and Blessed.
