Owl’s Brew Review: Four Fun Drink Mixers for Family, Friends, Halloween, and Christmas

My family is always Grateful, Thankful, and Blessed when a company agrees to work with us especially when its something several members of my family would be able to drink as long as there 21+. There is another reason I was excited to try out Owl’s Brew and its because it reminded me of my mom who collected Owls as child and there were several varieties of drinks I know she would have been excited to taste.

I have a question for you. Have you ever found something you wanted to share with the adults 21+ and over in your friends and family circle, even though everyone has different tastes and needs? That’s what happened when David and I sat down to try Owl’s Brew!

When I first received these mixers, I was excited to see what we would think of the different flavors. David enjoys his drinks, and I’m always looking for something new to share with him. But when I started looking at the ingredients and realized that the mixers are non-alcoholic on their own, I began thinking about other members of our family who might enjoy them, too.

My sister follows a gluten-free diet, so finding products labeled gluten-free is important when I’m considering something she might be able to enjoy. My mother-in-law cannot drink alcohol, and my mother in law has diabetes. That makes it especially important to pay attention to ingredients, nutrition information, and how products fit individual dietary needs.

My family doesn’t promote drinking alcohol as something people need to do to have fun. In fact, one thing I appreciate about these mixers is that you can enjoy them without adding alcohol. You can also use them as the base for a cocktail if that’s your preference and its what I did. .

That gives families options when they’re entertaining or looking for something different to serve. Of course, being gluten-free doesn’t automatically mean a product is suitable for every person with dietary restrictions, and people with diabetes should check the carbohydrate and sugar content and follow their healthcare professional’s advice. I would also want to verify the complete ingredient information for any flavor before serving it to someone with specific dietary needs.

With that said, let’s talk about Owl’s Brew, the company behind these colorful little cans, and the four flavors we had the opportunity to try! Owl’s Brew was founded by Jennie Ripps and Maria Littlefield. According to the company, the founders wanted drinks that combined great flavor with recognizable ingredients, including real fruit, botanical, and tea.

What began with a desire to make better-tasting drinks has grown into a collection of products that includes non-alcoholic cocktail mixers, ready-to-drink cocktails, and its Spiked Pop line. The company emphasizes real ingredients and bold flavors, offering options for people who enjoy mixing their own drinks as well as those who prefer something ready to serve.

While exploring the Owl’s Brew website, I also discovered its Wise Collective, a community initiative focused on supporting women, building connections, mentorship, educational opportunities, nonprofit partnerships, and community events. I enjoyed learning about this additional side of the company because I believe encouraging others and strengthening our communities are worthwhile things to celebrate.

Owl’s Brew also has recipes on its website, a store locator to help you find its products, and a Boozy Book Club featuring books by female authors, paired with reading guides, conversations, giveaways, and events. Making this the perfect addition to our 10 Minute Reading Challenge.

As someone who enjoys discovering new products and sharing books and experiences with our Greatful Moments readers, I thought those were interesting extras to find while learning about the brand. You can explore the company’s offerings at Owl’s Brew.

Now, let’s get to the flavors we tried! The first flavor we tried was Pineapple Coconut Mixer, a pineapple coconut mixer. This one was an immediate hit with David! The package contains four cans and says the mixer makes 12 or more cocktails. The can recommends adding rum, mezcal, or seltzer, but you don’t have to add alcohol to enjoy it.

Owl’s Brew describes this flavor as featuring powerhouse black tea, hydrating coconut water, and restorative elderberry. The product is vegan and gluten-free, and the label lists 35 calories per serving. I loved the light blue packaging with orange lettering. I could easily imagine wrapping a box up as a Christmas gift or taking the individual cans out and dividing them among stockings.

But what did David think? He added rum and really, really liked it! He told me that the pineapple didn’t overpower the coconut flavor. Instead, the two flavors complemented each other. He even wished he had some cookies to eat alongside his drink! Crazy man.

I honestly didn’t think he was going to share, but he finally let me have a taste. Then he took one of the cans over to his mother, who tried it without alcohol and really liked it. That made this flavor especially fun for our family. We could share the same mixer even though not everyone wanted or could have an alcoholic drink.

I’m already thinking about purchasing more of the pineapple coconut flavor for David for Christmas. It would be a fun alternative to his usual beer and a way to let him experiment with something different. If you enjoy pineapple and coconut together, this is the flavor I’d suggest checking out first.

The second flavor was the Habanero Margarita Mixer: Citrus, Spice, and a Memory of Mom which Owl’s Brew describes as citrusy, spicy, and wickedly good. This mixer features green tea and elderberry, and the can suggests adding tequila, mezcal, or seltzer. Like the other mixers we tried, it can be enjoyed without adding alcohol.

I’m not usually a margarita drinker, although I certainly enjoy rum and tequila now and then! David tried this flavor, and it brought back a special memory of my mom, who loved her strawberry margaritas. As David enjoyed the drink, he kept telling me how much he wished Mom were here to have one with him.

Those moments can catch you by surprise. You start out trying something new, and before you know it, you’re remembering someone you love and wishing you could share one more afternoon together. I wish Mom were here, too each and every day and having these drinks brings her a little bit closer.

The Habanero Margarita Mixer comes in a turquoise-colored box with green lettering. I thought the packaging was cute, and it would look lovely tucked into a Christmas gift basket. Another thing I noticed was that this box included recipes for a Habanero Margarita and a Wicked Chill. David can’t wait to try making the Wicked Chill! If you enjoy citrus flavors with a little kick, this is one to investigate. And if you prefer not to consume alcohol, you can enjoy the mixer without adding tequila or mezcal.

The third flavor was the Watermelon Margarita Mixer: Zero Nonsense, Please! Featuring watermelon and lime which I didn’t think I would like but I did because neither flavor was overwhelming.. The packaging says, “Watermelon, lime, zero nonsense.” Now, that sounds like something I need more of in my life! I don’t have time for nonsense and drama. How about you?

This mixer can be combined with tequila, gin, or seltzer. Since I usually reach for tequila and barely ever drink gin, I decided to try something different and mixed mine with gin. And guess what? It was so good! Here’s the funny part: I don’t generally care for watermelon flavor. The exception is watermelon Jolly Ranchers. So I wasn’t sure what I would think of this one.

I was pleasantly surprised and could see myself drinking it again, especially on a hot, sunny day while sitting outside by a swimming pool. Sometimes a product surprises you by changing your mind about something you thought you didn’t like. That’s one of the fun parts of trying new things.

There are more flavors and recipes I’d love to explore, too. I especially want to try the White Tea Watermelon Crush, and David wants to try the Cream flavored.. With so many fun flavors there is something for everyone including the Tea lovers in your household.

The package also has a QR code to scan for more recipes, which gives us another reason to experiment with different ways to serve these mixers. If you’re a watermelon fan, this might be the one for you. And if you’re not usually a watermelon fan like me, you might still be surprised

The last flavor we tried was the Hibiscus Cosmo Mixer, described as tart, juicy, and flirty. LOL! As if David needs anyone else to flirt with! Not, that he does that. This mixer can be combined with vodka, tequila, or seltzer. Once again, you can also enjoy it without adding alcohol.

I’ll admit that I wasn’t sure what I would think of the hibiscus flavor. It wasn’t necessarily the first flavor I would have picked for myself, but I was happy to give it a try. And I really liked it! Now I’m thinking about sharing this one with my girlfriends. It would be a fun addition to a get-together, especially if everyone could choose whether to enjoy it on its own or prepare a cocktail.

I also thought about Christmas gifts. Sometimes we get stuck buying the same things year after year, and I like finding something a little different that people can enjoy together. You could put a box of Owl’s Brew in a gift basket, add some pretty glasses, or divide the cans among several stockings. You could even create a gift basket with a few different flavors so your recipient could discover a favorite.

I was a little surprised that this can didn’t have recipes printed on it like the Habanero Margarita Mixer did. Still, there are plenty of possibilities to explore through the company’s website. The hibiscus flavor was another pleasant surprise, and I’d happily try it again.

After trying these four mixers, I discovered that Owl’s Brew has even more to explore. The company’s website features its Spiked Pop collection, including Black Cherry, Cream Soda, and The Doc. It also offers ready-to-drink beverages made with tea, as well as other cocktail options.

These are different from the four non-alcoholic mixers we reviewed, so it’s important to check the individual product labels. Some of the other Owl’s Brew beverages contain alcohol, while the mixers we tried can be enjoyed without adding it. The company also provides recipes and a store locator to help you discover more. If you want to browse the available products, visit the Owl’s Brew online shop. You can also use the store locator to look for retailers near you.

After trying all four flavors, I enjoyed discovering the different combinations and seeing which ones appealed to each of us. David particularly enjoyed the pineapple coconut flavor and the Habanero Margarita Mixer. I was surprised by how much I liked the Watermelon Margarita Mixer, considering I’m not usually a fan of watermelon flavor. The Hibiscus Cosmo Mixer was another pleasant surprise.

But my favorite part of the experience was being able to share the mixers with family and think about the different ways we could enjoy them together. The fact that the mixers are non-alcoholic on their own makes them versatile for entertaining. Guests can enjoy them without spirits, while those who choose to drink alcohol can prepare a cocktail according to the package directions. That flexibility makes them worth considering for a holiday gathering or a gift basket.

For anyone managing dietary restrictions, I recommend checking each flavor’s complete ingredients and nutrition information rather than assuming every product is suitable for every diet. And if you’re shopping for someone who enjoys trying new flavors, these colorful cans could be a fun alternative to the usual holiday gifts.

As Santa starts loading his sleigh this year, I’ll be asking him to bring us some more Owl’s Brew! I’d love to get more of the pineapple coconut mixer for David, try some additional flavors, and share a few with my girlfriends. I can picture these boxes underneath our Christmas tree or tucked into stockings for adults who enjoy discovering something new.

I also believe Owl’s Brew would make a fun addition to our Interactive Halloween Gift Guide. Imagine handing out candy, visiting with family and friends, and having a special non-alcoholic mixer ready to enjoy once the trick-or-treaters have gone home.

The mixers could also be a fun addition to our Interactive Christmas Gift Guide for adults 21 and over, with individual cans, gift baskets, and different flavors to explore. Whether you’re looking for something to enjoy yourself, something different to share with family, or a creative gift for a friend, Owl’s Brew offers several flavors worth discovering.
