The closer we get to Christmas and the holidays, the busier everyone seems to get including my family. My family, believes even Santa needs a little help sometimes, so I thought I would volunteer to help him load the sleigh this year. But if you know David like I do, you know he’s not going to let me lift anything heavy. I can already hear him saying, “Go sit down. I’ll do it. I got this!”
Meanwhile, I can picture Charlie sitting behind the sleigh’s steering wheel, shouting, “I’ll drive! I’ll drive! Watch out, Rudolph. We’re on the road again!” And poor Santa? He’s hanging on by the skin of his teeth while trying to check his list to see who’s been naughty or nice. I’m not sure how much checking he’s actually going to get done with Charlie behind the wheel and David making sure I’m not lifting anything.
As for Rudolph, I have a feeling he’s going to have his own opinion about this whole adventure. After all, somebody needs to make sure there are plenty of snacks for the long journey, and Rudolph has already announced, “Bring on the snacks!” because he’s going to get hungry.
This isn’t just another Christmas story. It’s part of our Interactive Christmas Gift Guide Challenge! We’re inviting the kids to jump into the story, use their imaginations, and create their very own Christmas adventure. Here’s the fun part: when your child spends 10 minutes reading and creating their own Christmas story, they can earn a ticket! The ticket can be added to the family’s Christmas challenge and used toward the rewards you’ve planned for your children.
So grab a pencil, print our free activity, and let the kids decide what happens next. What would they put in Santa’s sleigh? Would Santa need a swimsuit if he’s delivering presents in Texas? What snacks would he take? Would he bring a book to read? What happens if Charlie takes the wheel? What if Rudolph decides he needs a snack stop? There are no wrong answers. This is their Christmas story!
Now, we want you to come along on this Christmas adventure and help us create the perfect Christmas story for our 10-Minute Reading Challenge. What would you name our adventure? Mine would probably be On the Road Again with Santa, but if you ask David and Charlie, I have no earthly clue what they would come up with. And I haven’t even asked Rudolph yet!
Would Santa need a swimsuit if he were delivering presents in Texas? Would he pack cookies, hot chocolate, or maybe a sandwich for the road? What happens if Charlie misses a turn, David needs a break, or Rudolph spots a snack shop along the way? That’s where you come in!
Use your imagination and decide what happens next. Add characters, snacks, surprises, silly situations, and anything else you think belongs in Santa’s sleigh. Then use our free printable Christmas Story Activity to write and draw your own version of the adventure.
You might even come up with a better title than mine! So grab a book, bring your imagination, and let’s help Santa load the sleigh. Christmas is waiting, and we’re already on the road again!
