Grateful, Thankful, and Blessed — Greatful Moments recently had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of Bus Simulator 27, and this turned out to be a lot more fun than I expected!

There are some video games you play because you want to battle, compete, or see how quickly you can make it through a level. Then there are games that let you slow down, explore, and do something completely different. For our family, Bus Simulator 27 turned out to be one of those games.

Charlie and I received a code to try the game, and before long, David joined us online. The three of us were able to play together, and what started out as trying a new game quickly turned into something we were all enjoying. And I’ll admit something right away: My favorite part was being able to drive a bus!

Now let me what Bus Simulator 27 is? Bus Simulator 27 is a simulation game developed by Simteract and published by astragon entertainment. The game was released on September 8, 2026, for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. Charlie has a couple of these game systems and we tried the game on all of them.

The idea is pretty simple: You are responsible for helping run public transportation in the fictional world of Felicia Bay. But there is much more to it than simply getting behind the wheel. Players can create and operate routes, manage schedules, hire drivers, assign lines, customize buses, and build their bus company. There are also different ways to play, including Story, Career, and Sandbox modes.

One of the things that stood out to me was being able to play online with my family. Charlie and I started playing, and David was able to join us online. That meant the three of us could experience the game together even though we weren’t all sitting at the same computer.

For us, that meant David, Charlie, and I could all be part of the same gaming experience. That’s a big deal in our house. Sometimes finding a game that everyone can enjoy together isn’t as easy as it sounds. Different people like different types of games, and sometimes one person is interested while everyone else is just watching.

This was different. We were actually playing together online. And we had fun doing it. I think my favorite part of Bus Simulator 27 was also probably the simplest part: I got to drive a bus. There is something fun about sitting down and suddenly being responsible for getting passengers where they need to go.

The game includes a variety of officially licensed buses and gives players the opportunity to build and manage their own bus company. If we had been #Homeschooling still we would have used the game as one of our Art Classes and Engineering. And because this is a simulator, driving isn’t simply about pointing the bus in a direction and going.

You’re operating public transportation. That makes the experience different from many of the games we normally think about when we hear the word “driving.” What I really appreciated about our experience was that it gave us something different to do together. Not every family gaming night needs to involve fighting enemies or trying to beat someone else. Thank the LORD for that because I can only play those games for so long but this game I didn’t get tired of playing.

Sometimes it’s fun to simply get online, explore a game, laugh together, and see what happens. For us, that happened with a bus simulator. And honestly, I wasn’t expecting that. I went into it knowing Charlie enjoys gaming and thinking we’d give it a try. Instead, David joined us online, and the three of us ended up having a genuinely fun time. That’s the kind of experience I love sharing on Greatful Moments.

Sometimes the best family memories come from things you weren’t expecting. For me, Bus Simulator 27 was one of those surprises. Charlie and I received the opportunity to try the game, David joined us online, and the three of us ended up having fun together.

I especially enjoyed getting behind the wheel and driving the bus. But what I enjoyed even more was having something we could all play together online. That’s what made Bus Simulator 27 stand out for me. It’s not just about buses. It’s about exploring a new world, trying something different, and—at least in our family—finding a reason for three of us to connect online and enjoy a little gaming time together.

One of the things we discovered while playing Bus Simulator 27 is that it isn’t simply a game where you drive a bus from one stop to another. There are several different ways to experience the game.

1. Drive Different Buses

Of course, you can drive the bus—which was my favorite part!

Bus Simulator 27 includes more than 45 officially licensed buses from 13 manufacturers. That gives players different types of buses to experience, including city buses, articulated buses, double-decker buses, electric buses, and coaches.

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to sit behind the wheel of a bus, this gives you the chance to find out from the comfort of home.

2. Build and Manage Your Bus Company

You’re not just a bus driver.

You can build your own transportation company, create routes, manage schedules, hire drivers, and assign them to different lines.

That adds a whole management side to the game for players who enjoy making decisions and building something over time.

3. Explore Felicia Bay

The game takes place in the fictional Southern European region of Felicia Bay.

There are two major cities—Alcaztelar and Mequina—along with 20 districts, surrounding towns and villages, coastal roads, and mountain routes.

So you aren’t stuck driving around the same neighborhood over and over again.

There is a whole region to explore.

4. Play Together Online

This is the part that really stood out to our family.

Bus Simulator 27 allows up to four players to play cooperatively online.

Charlie and I played, and David joined us online. Being able to have all three of us involved made the game much more than something one person was playing while everyone else watched.

We were able to share the experience.

5. Choose How You Want to Play

Bus Simulator 27 offers Story, Career, and Sandbox modes, giving players different ways to approach the game.

You can follow a more structured experience, work on building your transportation company, or enjoy a more relaxed sandbox experience.

That variety means different members of the family can approach the game in the way they enjoy most.

5 Reasons Families Should Play Bus Simulator 27 Together

1. It’s a Game You Can Actually Play Together- How many times have you had one person playing a video game while everybody else sits around watching? With Bus Simulator 27’s online cooperative play, family members can actually join the same game and participate together. For us, that meant Charlie, David, and I could all get involved.

2. It Gives You Something to Talk About– When you’re playing together, you’re naturally communicating. Where are you going? Who’s driving? What’s happening on the route? What should we do next? Those little conversations are part of what makes playing together enjoyable.

3. Everyone Can Find Something They Enjoy– One person might love driving. Another might enjoy managing the company. Someone else might like exploring the map or trying different buses. Because there are several parts of the game, everyone doesn’t necessarily have to enjoy exactly the same thing to have fun together.

4. It’s Different From the Usual Family Games– Not every family game has to be about fighting, racing, or winning. Sometimes it’s fun to try something completely different. Bus Simulator 27 lets you pretend you’re running a transportation company and driving buses through a fictional European-inspired world. That’s definitely different from the games we normally think of as family gaming.

5. You Might Be Surprised by Who Has the Most Fun– This might be my favorite reason. I wasn’t expecting driving a bus to become my favorite part of the game. But it did! Even though Charlie scared me at times. Sometimes the games we think we won’t care about end up being the ones that give us a fun family memory.

For our family, Bus Simulator 27 gave us an opportunity to get online, play together, laugh, explore, and simply spend some time doing something different. And isn’t that really what family gaming should be about?

Would We Play Together Again? Absolutely. The biggest surprise for me wasn’t that Bus Simulator 27 lets you drive a bus. It was discovering how much fun it could be to play it together online as a family. Charlie, David, and I each got to be part of the experience, and I loved that we weren’t simply taking turns watching someone else play.

We were all playing together. And yes, if you ask me what my favorite part was, I’ll still give you the same answer: Driving the bus!
