I wss planning content for this week and going through the Gift Guides and what all we should be sharing for the week. As I was going through everything I noticed I have left #Harvest out of everything. Before you ask me how that happened when I Preach #onehlidayatatime. I don’t know.

But then I decided since today was going to be the day we regroup and get everything fixed I was going to make sure Harvest was a part of our content from now on. On Mondays if you want to know something about Harvest come and join us and I will be sharing books, events, recipes and family friendly content with you.

Now, I have a question for you this morning. Can going home be the beginning of everything she’s been searching for? When I was working on our gift guide, my mind kept jumping to the holidays we all know, love, and celebrate. But the more I worked, the more I kept hearing this little voice in the back of my head saying, “What about Harvest? Are you skipping Harvest?”

So now that you know I made a mistake and almost forgot about Harvest its time to more forward and Harvest planning and celebrating begins to day. I hope you will come and join my family as we begin to watch for Harvest events to attend this year.

This morning, while creating my Harvest content I sat started thinking about my best friend, Debbie. She doesn’t do Halloween. When her daughter was growing up, she would take her to Harvest Festivals. They weren’t called fall festivals. They were called Harvest Festivals. And suddenly, Harvest started making sense to me again.

Then I walked into Walmart because I was looking for some cleaning products. I didn’t want Halloween-themed products. I didn’t want Christmas products. And I didn’t want Thanksgiving products. I wanted Harvest. I wanted something cool, calm, different, and unique.

And then, lo and behold, I found a whole line of products based around Harvest because the Lord knew my needs before I did. I came home thinking that maybe the Lord was answering some of the prayers and questions I’d been struggling with this week. Maybe I wasn’t supposed to skip Harvest after all.

So I sat down in front of my computer and thought, “Oh man, it’s Monday. I need to share a new book with you.” And that’s when I found The Maplewood Harvest Festival by Amanpreet Kaur. You should see the cover of the book with all the beautiful leaves.

Now, I’m going to be completely honest with you. I haven’t sat down and read this book yet. But I plan to. I actually want to see if I can find a copy at Half Price Books. If I can’t find it there, I’ll check Barnes & Noble. I know I could order it online, but I still love being able to see and feel a book before I spend money on it.

And this is a new author for me. I’ve never read anything by Amanpreet Kaur before, which makes me even more curious about this story. There are seven books in the collection, and today we’re starting with the first one. I can’t tell you yet whether all seven can be read as standalone stories or not because I haven’t read them. But what I can tell you is that this is Book One, and I’ll share the rest of the titles with you at the end of this post.

The story follows Clara Whitmore, an overworked marketing executive who collapses during a high-pressure pitch and is sent home on an unexpected leave of absence. Home happens to be Maplewood, the hometown she left behind. And while she’s there, autumn has arrived and the town’s annual Harvest Festival is in full swing.

There are pumpkin patches, cider stands, old memories, and a small-town community waiting to welcome her back. And then there’s Eli, a quiet carpenter who has a past of his own. As Clara becomes involved in helping revive the festival, she begins rediscovering the place she once called home—and perhaps parts of herself that got lost somewhere along the way.

But then her big-city job comes calling. And Clara has a decision to make. Does she return to the high-powered life she built? Or does she stay in the little town that is beginning to feel like home again? If it was me I think I would stay there because like her I’ve been in marketing and used to become overwhelmed and if I had the opportunity to have walked away I would have. What about you?

I think the timing of this book is what really caught me. I’ve been thinking about Harvest all morning. I’ve been thinking about how easily we can rush from one holiday to another without stopping to appreciate the season that’s right in front of us. And then I found a book about a Harvest Festival. Maybe that’s why I was drawn to it.

I love stories about small towns, returning home, second chances, and people discovering that the life they thought they wanted isn’t necessarily the life that brings them the most happiness. And I especially love the idea of a Harvest Festival being at the center of the story. How about you?

So while I can’t give you my final thoughts on the book yet, I can tell you that I’m looking forward to finding it and sitting down with Clara, Eli, and the people of Maplewood myself.
