Our First September Swagbucks Weekly Recap: The Little Points Really Do Add Up

Every year for our family I end up struggling trying to figure out how to buy Christmas for David and Charlie but a couple years ago I did Swagbucks and was able to earn over $200 in Gift Cards which I printed out to different places for Charlie and David to go during the yearf.

If you’ve been following me this year I’ve decided to do Swagbucks again. This year I’m calling it my Swagbucks Christmas challenge. I just wish I had began in January instead of waiting until August/ September to buckle down and do it daily.

Because my goal was to earn enough for a $300 Gift Card to Paypal. I would have had $150 to spend on Charlie and $150 to spend on David. Instead I’ve set daily goals of at least 35 points a day which will get me a $gift card.

That isn’t where I wanted to be but its more realistic for me since I still have to work. Anything over that will either put me closer to my $300gtift card or leave me with a balance beginning in the New Year which could be a Godsend as well.

Instead of waiting until December and hoping we have enough points for a gift card, we’re starting early and watching those points grow one day at a time. Come and join us and if your looking for a way to earn some extra money check out Swagbucks.

Our September starting balance was 17,085 SB, and our Christmas goal is approximately 20,060 SB, which would give us about a $200 gift card. And this first week has already taught me something important: you don’t have to have a huge Swagbucks day for it to count

We’re using 33 SB a day as our target. But I’m also being realistic with myself. I consider 25 SB a successful day, and if I can get somewhere between 25 and 50 SB, I’m happy with that. A 50-point day is a great day, and anything over that gives us a little extra cushion.

Because let’s be honest—there are going to be days when surveys don’t cooperate. There may be days when I only have a few minutes. There may even be days when I look at my Swagbucks account and think, “Well, I’m only going to get three points today.”

But here’s the thing: Three points is still three points. If you get three points every day for a week, that’s 21 points you didn’t have before. And that’s why I’m changing the way I look at this. Because those extra 3 points a day could be extra points at the end of the week or they could make up for a day I didn’t make my goal.

One thing I want to make part of my routine every single day is checking the Daily Task. When I sign into Swagbucks, I look at the top of the page for the section that usually says Daily Task. It includes a question and can have other activities that help you complete your daily goal.

I want to do that every single day, whether I qualify for a survey or not. Surveys are wonderful when they work out, but I don’t want my entire plan to depend on getting accepted for surveys.

The Daily Task gives me something I can check every day. And those little points matter. This Week Showed Me Why Consistency Matters Our September 1 starting balance was 17,085 SB.

By the time we reached September 5, our balance had climbed to 17,533 SB. That’s 448 SB above our September starting balance. Some of those points came from surveys. Some came from other activities and bonuses. We even received 49 SB from the Daily Goal bonus we earned the previous month.

And that’s exactly why I’m keeping track of everything. Because when you look at one small activity by itself, it might not seem like much. But when you add the surveys, Daily Task, bonuses, offers and those little three-, five- or ten-point opportunities together, suddenly you’re looking at a much bigger number.

One thing I’m not doing this year is chasing perfection I’m not expecting to earn 33 SB every single day. That’s not real life. Instead, I’m looking at the week. If I have a slow day and only earn 10 points, I haven’t failed. Maybe tomorrow I’ll earn 50. Maybe the next day I’ll find a good survey and earn 75. The goal is to keep moving.

With my friends and family and the LORDs support I know I can and will make my goals and if I don’t I know that is the Lords will and he has something else in store for my family and that is okay.

That’s why our weekly checkpoint is going to be just as important as our daily number. Every Sunday, we’ll look back at what we earned during the previous seven days and see whether we’re ahead of our target or whether we need to pick up a few extra points during the next week.

Our official Christmas goal is still approximately 20,060 SB for a $200 gift card. That’s the goal we’re working toward. But I’m starting to wonder what could happen if we consistently have weeks where we earn more than our 33-SB daily target.

Could we eventually reach $300? Which would be 30,090 points or would we have enough for smaller gift cards because there is much more than Paypal my family wouldn’t mind receiving for Christmas.

I don’t know. I’m certainly not going to promise that we will. But I’m going to keep earning, keep tracking and see where we end up. Lord willing and the creek don’t rise. For now, I’m just happy to see that we’re moving in the right direction.

Come and join me on Sunday which begins a new week for us. I’ll start with a clean seven-day challenge and keep the same simple plan: Complete the Daily Task. Check for surveys. Look for other easy ways to earn.

Aim for 33 SB. And remember that 25 SB is still a successful day. Because this isn’t about getting rich from Swagbucks overnight. It’s about taking the little opportunities that are available and letting them add up.

I It doesn’t matter if its one point. Three points. Twenty-five points. Or fifty points. Whatever we can get. It all counts and I will take it and be grateful and by Christmas, we’ll see just how far those little points carried us.
