Charlie and I have a morning adventure this morning where we go to QT (Quick Trip) in the morning for a drink and sometimes a snack. You know I’m a huge fan of there app but now i have a question for you,
Did you know QT offers refills? Because I’m going to be honest with you—I didn’t know! But you can bet your bottom dollar I’m going to start taking advantage of that because saving a little money each day will fund mine and Charlie’s adventures
Can you imagine how much money I’ve spend I didn’t need to spend over the years? From now on before buying anything I am going to read any signs I see even if it annoys Charlie and David.
When refilling your drink I wanted to let you know you don’t necessarily have to use a QT-branded cup. Customers report bringing their own reusable containers in for refills, with the price based on the amount the container holds.
Now, I know why I’ve seen people bringing in there Coffee Cups and filling them up. When, Charlie and I stop for drinks, we usually easily spend around four dollars and something a day. So instead of looking at the refill as some huge savings all at once, I started thinking about it differently.
What if I simply saved the change? If our drinks came to $4.25, I could put 75 cents in my change jar. If they came to $4.50, I’d put 50 cents away. If they came to $4.75, I’d put the quarter in the jar.
Nothing complicated. Nothing that hurts the budget. Just putting away whatever is left over. And that’s how little savings can become bigger savings. Plus, on days we don’t have any money we would have the change we’ve saved.
If you’re getting a refill every day and saving even 15 cents compared with buying a new drink, that’s $1.05 a week and about $4.50 over a 30-day month. It isn’t going to make anybody rich—but it’s money you didn’t spend.
And if you’re already going to QT anyway, why not? Now I’m curious: How many of you already knew QT offered refills? Did you know you could bring your own cup? Or are you, like me, just finding this out?
Sometimes the best money-saving ideas aren’t complicated. Sometimes they’re sitting right there on a sign you’ve walked past a hundred times. Apparently, I just needed to look up.
Grateful, Thankful, and Blessed.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
