As we end August and move into September I wanted to take the time and thank the LORD for everything he has done for my family. Then I wanted to share a Prayer for September you can share with your friends and family. At the end of the post is a free printable of the Prayer you can hand to those you love.

Dear Lord,

As we begin a new month, help us slow down long enough to remember that You are already here. help us remember to check on our friends and family and neighbors who may be alone.

September can feel like a fresh start. A new school year is beginning, summer is winding down, and routines are changing. There are plans to make, things to organize, goals to revisit, and sometimes more questions than answers.

But Lord, before we try to figure everything out, help us remember to put You first. Help us regroup when life feels scattered. Help us refocus when we have lost sight of what truly matters. Help us rebuild when something needs to be changed, repaired, or started again.

Give us wisdom to know what needs to stay, what needs to go, and what simply needs a little more time. Remind us that starting over isn’t failure. Changing direction isn’t failure. Taking a step back isn’t failure. Sometimes You use those moments to prepare us for something better.

Lord, guide our families this month. Watch over our children. Give parents patience. Give teachers wisdom. Give students courage. And give all of us the grace to handle the things we cannot control.

Help us notice the little blessings tucked inside ordinary days—a cup of coffee, a good book, a family meal, a conversation, a laugh, a beautiful sunset, or a quiet moment when we realize that, somehow, we made it through another day.

Help us not rush past those moments. Help us be grateful for them. And when September doesn’t go according to our plans, remind us that You are still in control. We don’t need to have the entire month figured out today. We simply need to take the next step with You.

Lead our thoughts. Guide our decisions. Protect our families. Strengthen our faith. And help us remember that whatever this month brings, we don’t have to face it alone. We place September in Your hands.

Our plans. Our families. Our work. Our dreams. Our worries. Our unknowns. Everything. Lord, help us regroup, refocus, and rebuild—not according to our own plans, but according to Your purpose.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
