I was sitting here this morning thinking about the blog and what I wanted to post this morning as we come to the end of September. My mind What if you could take your family, drop them into one of your favorite movies, and let someone else decide who they would be?
Well, that’s exactly what we’re doing. Since we were choosing what movies to ask What Characters if Suzzane was here she might have said we should start with Grease and Charlie might have picked Cars or Real Steel. David said a western when took me to the Gambler.
And because Grease has been one of my all-time favorite movies for as long as I can remember, I couldn’t think of a better movie to start with. Do you think we should have started with Grease or was there another movie that would fit my family better?
Before I share the answer’s with you I wanted to share the fun part of the question with you. I wanted to see what an outside observer would see when looking at the people I know and love.
So I gave ChatGPT each person’s names and it took what it knows about our personalities, our interests, our quirks, our strengths, and even some of our not-so-perfect moments—and decided which Grease character each of us would be.
Then I made my own choices. And sometimes we agreed. Sometimes we absolutely did not. That’s what makes series unique and so much fun. So grab your leather jacket, or put on your pink sweater, and come with us to Rydell High.

David: ChatGPT chose Danny Zuko for David and honestly, I could see it. ChatGPT said David has a tough exterior, but underneath that exterior is a teddy bear. He tries to have everything under control, carries himself with confidence, and has plenty of independence and attitude.
He’s also a take-care-of-things kind of guy. David doesn’t give up easily. Even when he’s hurt, he keeps going. Loyalty is one of his strongest qualities, and when he loves someone, he’s there.
And then there’s the car. David has been working on cars since he was a little kid. Put him in a souped-up muscle car from the 1950s, slick back his hair, put him in a leather jacket, and suddenly I can see Danny Zuko. And here’s the funny part: David actually wore a leather jacket throughout high school when he wasn’t rocking his Cowboy hat or ROTC uniform like Suzzane wore. So maybe ChatGPT was onto something.
Glenda’s Thoughts: I would have picked Danny too for a slightly different reason. I don’t see David as Danny simply because he’s the obvious male lead. I see him as the leader of the pack.
He’s the guy who takes no crap from anybody. He’ll tell you like it is and walk away. He’s the one people look to. And if that leader gets knocked down, he’s still thinking about the people beside him. I can even picture David turning to his second-in-command and saying, essentially, “You’ve got this. Take over.” Which I believe would have been Charlie.
What do you think? Did ChatGPT get it right or did I? Or is there someone else from Grease who fits David better?
ChatGPT chose Kenickie for Charles.: And once again, I could see it. Chat GPT said Charles is independent. He can be slightly rebellious. Tell him what to do, and you might get a look that says, “Why?”
He has his own interests, his own projects, and his own way of doing things. Technology. Gaming. Photography. Behind-the-scenes work. Kenickie is hands-on, and Charles is too. Charles also likes cars, so I can absolutely picture him getting his hands dirty working on one. Kenickie doesn’t have to be the leader to be important. He’s got his own place in the group.
Glenda’s Thoughts: I actually would have chosen Vince Fontaine for Charles. Not because of Vince’s personal storyline, but because of what he represents. The sharp outfit. The confidence. The music. The dancing. The ability to take over a room. The television show. The entertainer.
When I think about Charles and his gaming and streaming world, I can see him turning that television-show energy into his own gaming show. He’s not necessarily standing there saying, “Look at me.” He’s saying, “Come watch what I’m doing.” And suddenly everybody is watching.
Suzanne- ChatGPT’s Choice: Frenchy: And this one made me smile because Frenchy had already been somewhere in the back of my mind. Frenchy is sentimental. She’s not afraid to be a little different. She’s sweet and memorable without needing to be the loudest person in the Pink Ladies.
That is very much Suzanne. Suzanne never needed to be the loudest person in the room. She could be tough, but she was soft too. She could have some confidence, but she wasn’t trying to take over the world. And yes, Suzanne could be a dreamer. That’s the part of Frenchy I can really see in her.
Glenda’s Thoughts: Now, if I were choosing a character for Suzanne, I probably wouldn’t have picked Frenchy. I would have picked the school secretary. You know the one I’m talking about—the funny, slightly ditzy secretary who is always ringing that bell, making mistakes with paperwork, and somehow making everything around her a little more hilarious.
That’s the Suzanne I remember. Not because I’m saying she was old. Absolutely not. It’s because Suzanne had that lovable, funny, slightly goofy side. And there is another reason this choice makes me smile. Suzanne actually wanted to work in a school as a kindergarten teacher. So maybe the school secretary wasn’t such a crazy choice after all.

Now you might have thought I forgot about myself but I didn’t ChatGPT chose Rizzo. And I couldn’t have picked better myself. Rizzo is tough as nails. She takes nothing from anybody. She knows what she wants, and she’s going to get it.
She’s not afraid. She’s not waiting around for someone else to tell her what her life should look like. And underneath all that toughness, there’s a softer side. That’s the Rizzo ChatGPT see. So yes. ChatGPT got me right.
