QT Review: Why QuikTrip Is One of Our Regular Stops
For y family there are some places you go because you need something. Then there are places that become part of your everyday routine because you can always find something you want. For our family, QT is Quick Trip is one of those places and its been this way for as long as I can remember. Although it used to just be for gas.
Now more times than not my family stops at QT for drinks, and right now, if you have the app, you can get fountain drinks for 49 cents. That’s a pretty good reason to stop when you’re already out running errands. The only problem is that I need to get my QT app fixed because I can’t get the drinks for that price and the other day Charlie and I went and it cost us $10 for two drinks and candy. I can’t afford that.
I’m going to call customer service because there is a 1-800 number for help, and I’m hoping they can get everything straightened out for me. The app is worth having because QT runs specials all the time, and you can get coupons and other deals through it. Today I was able to get four drinks for 49 cents each because my sister was with me and she has the app.
There was just one little catch. You can only order one drink at a time with that particular deal, so we had to go back inside each time. Four drinks meant four trips back in. Which meant extra steps for me and that is a Godsend. 49 cents a drink, I’m not going to complain too much! And you already know what my favorite drink is.
I love my Cherry Dr. Pepper. QT makes it easy to customize your drinks, too. If you want cherry added to your soft drink, you can do that. And QT has just about every kind of soft drink you could want, along with frozen drinks, hot coffee, cold coffee, and plenty of other choices. Including a Deli to order Pizza and Sandwiches from.
But the drinks aren’t the only reason I like QT their breakfast sandwiches are really good. I get the croissant with sausage and egg. David has a completely different breakfast order. He likes the burrito with the tortilla, sausage, bacon, ham, and egg with Cheese. That’s another thing I appreciate about QT. You can find something quick for breakfast without having to sit down at a restaurant.
And if you want something warm to drink, they have hot chocolate, too and they used to have a hot chocolate machine where you could make it yourself and add your own whip cream. Now you have to order the hot chocolate behind the counter, but it’s still a nice option when you’re looking for something warm. The funny part is I still dream about that whip cream machine and I wish I had one of my own.
And then there is the ice. I have to talk about QT ice because I love it.
They have that crushed ice that makes a cold drink even better. But they also have cubed Ice and I’m one of those people who likes good ice in my drink, and QT definitely has the kind I like. Of course, if you’re stopping at QT, you don’t have to be looking for a meal or a drink. You can find snacks for just about everybody.
They have chips, candy, cookies, and all kinds of things you can grab when you’re hungry. They also have refrigerated foods, including salads and hard-boiled eggs, which are nice choices when you want something a little more substantial. They have cold drinks in cans and bottles, and they carry lots of different kinds of bottled water.
And if you’re looking for energy drinks, David can always find something he likes. Along with the Beer David likes which is always Ice Cold. But my favorite QT find isn’t a drink. It’s the chocolate cake. The Banana Nut Cake and even the Lemon Cake and there is Birthday Cake and Red Velvet if you like them.
These slices of cake are individual slices of cake in the refrigerated section, and that is one of those things I have to walk past carefully because if I see it when I’m hungry, I might decide I need one. Which we all know isn’t on my diet and why I should put blinders on before entering the store as the candy aisle calls my name.
QT also runs specials regularly, so I always think it’s worth checking what they have going on before you shop. That’s another reason I want to get my app fixed. Between the coupons, drink specials, food specials, and everything else they offer, you can sometimes save quite a bit if you pay attention. Sometimes they even have free items in the app.
And that’s what I like about QT. It’s not just a gas station where you stop to fill up your car. You can get breakfast. You can grab lunch or a snack. You can get coffee. You can get a frozen drink. You can get bottled water. You can grab something sweet. You can pick up an energy drink for the afternoon. And, of course, you can get your favorite fountain drink with that crushed ice.
For us, QT has become one of those regular stops where everybody knows what they’re going in for. I know I’m looking for my Cherry Dr. Pepper. Or should I get a Cherry Coke today and why? David knows what breakfast burrito he’s getting. And if I happen to come out with a piece of chocolate cake, well, that’s just an added bonus.
Do you have a QT or convenience store that you always stop at? And what’s the one thing you always get when you’re there? For me, it’s pretty easy. Give me a Cherry Dr. Pepper with that crushed ice, and I’m happy. Although a Hershey’s with Almonds or a Mr. Goodbar would be nice as well. Wouldn’t it?
