Buffalo Wild Wings: The Wings Charlie and David Both Love
For my family some foods are family favorites, even when the entire family doesn’t actually eat them. That would be Wings from Buffalo Wild Wings in our family. Charlie and David both love Wings and my brother Gerald likes them too. Me? I’m not a wing person. Actually, that’s putting it mildly. I don’t eat wings.
I don’t care if they’re from a restaurant, cooked at home, grilled, fried, covered in sauce, or prepared some other way. Wings just aren’t something I eat. But that doesn’t mean I can’t find something I love there. Their French fries are amazing. I could honestly order a basket of their fries and be perfectly happy eating those and nothing else.
There is one little problem, though. Sometimes they put a little too much seasoning on the fries, and that’s something we have to watch because too much seasoning bothers David’s knees. So, depending on how they’re seasoned, the fries can go from being one of my favorite things on the menu to being a little too much. But when they’re just right? I’ll take the fries.
One thing we always look for when we go into Buffalo Wild Wings is the specials. When you walk into the restaurant, you’ll see different specials displayed on the windows, so it’s worth looking around before deciding what you’re going to order. Also check out the app for other specials which I need to sign up for.
They also have information displayed about the different spices and flavors, which is helpful when you’re trying to decide what kind of wings you want. And everybody in our family seems to have their own favorite. My brother Gerald likes the garlic Parmesan bone-in wings. Charlie prefers the boneless wings, which are usually the cheaper option, and he likes them mild.
And then there is David’s mom and Charlie’s grandmother. I can just picture her choosing the atomic hot wings and turning it into an eating contest with Charlie. Honestly, I think she would have given him a run for his money. But if they do hold a contest David and I will sit it out because we both can’t handle the heat. Can you?
That’s one of those things about family food stories that makes me smile. Sometimes you don’t even have to imagine what someone would have ordered because you already know them well enough to know exactly what they would have chosen. Buffalo Wild Wings is located on Denton Highway in the Aldi shopping center, which makes it a convenient stop when you’re already out shopping in the area.
They have sodas and, at least at this location, the focus is really on the wings and different wing flavors. And that’s probably why I can’t give you a full review of the wings myself. I don’t eat them. Instead, this is one of those family reviews where I’m telling you what my family thinks while being completely honest about my own experience.
David and Charlie can tell you about the wings. Gerald can tell you about the garlic Parmesan. And I can tell you about the fries. Because sometimes the best part of a restaurant isn’t necessarily the food everyone else orders. Sometimes it’s the one thing you find that makes you want to go back. For me, that’s the French fries.
Would we go back to Buffalo Wild Wings? Absolutely. Well, they would go back for the wings. I’d probably go back for the fries. And that’s perfectly okay because when you’re eating with family, everybody doesn’t have to order the same thing to have a good time. They just have to spend time together.
Grateful, Thankful, and Blessed
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
