My family has been into sports once in a while when Charlie would show a interest in something and one of the sports Charlie became fascinated with was soccer. I was glad Charlie picked Soccer because not only has it been a part o f my family’s life but also David’s life growing up

For as long as I can remember someone played soccer including Suzanne when she was little, and later Charlie and Davidspent years on the soccer field. Weekends were often filled with practices, games, team celebrations, and cheering from the sidelines. Those memories are still some of my favorites.

Now that our children are older and grown, our soccer days look a little different. Instead of spending weekends at the fields, we’re enjoying the excitement of FIFA World Cup 26™ from the comfort of home. Living in the Dallas–Fort Worth area means there’s plenty of excitement surrounding the tournament, but we’ve discovered you don’t have to attend matches or special events to enjoy the season.

Not every family in Dallas–Fort Worth is planning to attend games or fan events this summer, and that’s perfectly okay. For many households, like mine the FIFA World Cup 26™ simply becomes part of the rhythm of everyday life. A match may be playing on television while dinner is cooking. Children might notice soccer displays while running errands with their parents. Stores feature themed merchandise, and conversations about the tournament pop up almost everywhere.

What makes this season enjoyable is its flexibility. There isn’t any pressure to watch every match, memorize the teams, or understand every rule. Families can tune in when they have time, catch highlights later, or simply enjoy the atmosphere that surrounds such a major international event.

Our family enjoys turning on a match in the evening, grabbing a few snacks, and relaxing together in the living room. Sometimes we watch the entire game. Other times it’s simply on in the background while we’re talking about our day or finishing household chores. Either way, it creates another opportunity to spend time together.

For families who prefer quieter activities or simply aren’t interested in navigating large crowds, watching from home offers the best of both worlds. You can experience the excitement, celebrate great moments, and enjoy the conversations happening throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth community without ever leaving your house.

In the end, the World Cup season isn’t just about soccer. It’s about finding simple ways to connect as a family, enjoy time together, and create new memories while celebrating a global event in whatever way works best for your household.
