Life in Bloom Travel- Getting Out of the House Changes Everything

It’s Monday morning and I wanted to share another post for our Life in Bloom Travel series- Getting Out of the House Changes Everything. I don’t know about you but there are days when the house just feels like too much.

Not because anything is wrong exactly — just because everything feels louder when you stay in the house too long. The same spaces, the same thoughts, the same weight sitting in the background. So, when David gets home, we get in the car.

No real plan. No big destination. Just “I need out of here for a minute.” And suddenly the world feels different. As we drive around and talk and decide where to stop at, I notice things again. The road I always take looks different. The people at stoplights and the way the sun hits buildings I’ve passed a hundred times but never really looked at.

We stop for a drink for me and a Energy Drink for Daid we didn’t plan on buying. Then we sit for a minute longer than I meant to in the parking lot of my Townhome and this time I don’t rush back into the house without taking a minute for me. And something shifts — not everything, not magically — but enough.

Enough to breathe a little easier.
Enough to not feel so stuck in my own space.
Enough to remember I’m allowed to step away from what feels heavy.

Remember it doesn’t have to be a trip. Sometimes it’s just leaving the house long enough to come back to yourself.

Thank you,
