The Mommies Reviews

January 1st, 2025 Food & Beverage Holidays

Life is funny I wanted to share #Holidays that go hand in hand today but also can be funny when you look at them. National Bloody Mary Day a beverage I’ve never tried. Have you? Which could lead to us celebrating National Hangover Day if we drink to much on New Year’s Day which a lot of us plan on celebrating this evening.

Here is a recipe for a Bloody Mary:

Ingredients

Original recipe: yields 1 servings

  • 1 teaspoon sea salt, or as needed
  • ice cubes, as needed
  • ¾ cup spicy tomato-vegetable juice cocktail (such as V8®)
  • 1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger vodka
  • 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 dash hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®)
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 2 garlic-stuffed green olives, threaded onto a toothpick

Directions

  1. Gather all ingredients
  2. Pour salt onto a small plate. Moisten the rim of a glass and press into the salt. Fill the glass with ice cubes
  3. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes; add vegetable juice cocktail, vodka, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, salt, and pepper. Cover and shake until the outside of shaker has frosted, about 20 seconds
  4. Strain Bloody Mary into the prepared glass. Garnish with celery stalk and olives.

Looks like I will need to go grocery shopping if David want’s a Bloody Mary this evening. Would you like to go with me and we can pick up other drinks like Sangria and Snacks and we can watch movies or play Board Games this evening.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
