National Aviation Day & Bussey Hot Air Balloon Event

Most children have returned to school and now that back-to-school is behind us its time to work on a list of Field Trips for my family to go on during the school year. I would like to share National Aviation Day & Bussey Hot Air Balloon Event – Saturday, August 19, 2023 – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. CT this event is in Houston.

We would need to take a day or two off. Which we can’t do at the moment, but you might want to take your family. Or even just go on a date with your significant other. I am telling you one day God willing I will be able to visit the Lone Star Flight Museum with my family. We would like to invite you to come with us.

Lone Star Flight Museum at Ellington Airport, Houston, Texas

Calling all aviators! It’s a day made for the Lone Star Flight Museum. Enjoy a day that is all about aircraft. From helicopters and drones to warbirds and space shuttles, it’s a special day to celebrate aviation! Hands-on activities, plane tours, cockpit sneak peaks, tinkering with tools and don’t forget the flight simulators.

10 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Hot Air Balloon Craft – Build your own mini version of the Bussey balloon while experimenting with the fundamentals of flight!

10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Peek inside the Corsair – See the cockpit that many high-scoring Allied aces flew in.

10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. – DC-3 Tours – Step back in time in this vintage commercial airliner.

10 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Meet the EAA – Visit with the Experimental Aircraft Association, whose mission is to ignite an interest in aviation.

This event is included in general admission and is FREE for museum members.
