Good morning, how are you? It’s not been a fun week in our home David has been home since Monday with the Flu. Now Charlie is also getting sick. Through it all we’ve been cooking as a family at times. Charlie asked me to let you know for our challenge for January 16th #PictureoftheDay Challenge for you to come share a recipe your preparing with someone you love. In the United States, the issue of after-school care has been a pressing challenge for working mothers only to be further complicated by COVID-19. No where is this more apparent than by looking at the number of women in the workforce pre- and post-pandemic. In 2019, women’s participation was 57.4%. However, by 2021, this rate dropped to 56.1%. This decrease is particularly notable considering it represents the lowest since 1987 (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). The pandemic aftermath continues to lead to a more pronounced exit of women than men. In February 2021, female participation was 3.1% smaller than 2020.
