2024 Foot Pain Trends Report

Foot pain is a prevalent issue (81% of American adults have experienced it at some point in their life), and impacts those who work on their feet significantly. This includes both David and I and even my sister at times. How about you? I thought I would share 2024 Foot Pain Trends Report with you and please share this information with your friends and family.

In a new survey of over 3,000 Americans, KURU Footwear has compiled a new report—The 2024 State of Foot Pain Report. These findings highlight the unique challenges faced by education workers and the broader implications for occupational foot health. In a survey of over 3,000 Americans, we found that education workers rank as the #5 occupation that suffer foot pain the most.The careers most common among those with foot pain are:

1. Health Care and Social Assistance
2. Construction
3. Retail
4. Homemaker
5. Education
6. Finance and Insurance
7. Hotel and Food Services
8. Information Services and Data
9. Software
10. Manufacturing

Here are some other highlights from the survey:

• Of those who experienced foot pain, 47% say it’s debilitating.
• Nearly half (47%) of respondents indicated that their foot pain originated from an injury.
• Only 37% of individuals with foot pain have received a formal diagnosis from a doctor.
• Surprisingly, 63% of those experiencing foot pain reported that they do not have a family history of foot pain.
• A noteworthy 70% of respondents consider foot pain when purchasing shoes, indicating a heightened awareness of the impact of footwear choices on foot health.
