National Caramel Popcorn Day Recipe: 1 cup butter 2 cups brown sugar ½ cup corn syrup 1 teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 5 quarts popped popcorn Step 1 Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (95 degrees C). Place popcorn in a very large bowl. Step 2 In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in brown sugar, corn syrup and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Good morning, welcome to our series sharing Food Holidays: April 4th. This morning it’s National Cordon Bleu Day. As a child I remember the first time I had ever eaten Cordon Blue. It was during the Summer and I was hanging out at my best friend Tina’s home. Like Charlie my best friend lived next door to us. We were always in there home or they were in ours. I sure miss those days. At lunch time Tina’s older sister Tanya made lunch for us. She fixed Cordon Blue and served it with Cheetos and Grape Kool-Aid. Weren’t we fancy?
